Love your audience as yourself

The Lord taught, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" (Matthew 22:39). In the world, I see how people seek opportunities to serve and help others. In my mission, I was striving to serve people in difficult situations, and I saw the Lord's hand in their lives and how He loves them. Therefore, you and I can assist people no matter the problem, and news writing is no exception. So, how can we help our audience feel loved and cared for with our writing, even when we cannot get to know each other?

Your audience is your friend.

1. Tell a story. Storytelling can impact any person — including you — to feel identified and connect with what we tell. Stories make people imagine characters, events, and, most importantly, what they can learn from and apply. Look here how the author uses an engaging way to tell a story about football that you and your audience will love.

2. Quotes. As writers, we show love, empathy, and friendliness by sharing quotes from people who experienced the events we are sharing. Undoubtedly, people will engage with you and your writing when they see quotation marks. Thus, their brain will command them to read those words from people who lived or have knowledge about our topic.

Then you and I need to express care for our audience while writing our content. We should be aware that our consumers are dedicating their time and energy to reading our information, expecting it to help them satisfy their needs. We are here to do that.

They are the most valuable part of our writing.

After all, if the Lord dedicated time, love, and perfect empathy for thousands, why wouldn’t we do it? As a writer and friend, I invite you to prepare and think of your audience as a familiar or friend who needs help with the topic you’ll write and elaborate on an inspiring news writing you know they will engage with. I promise they will.
