The improvement of my writing
During these six weeks, I have learned many things regarding writing assignments. It was not easy, but I improved my skills by following the takeaways I gained in all my classes. Writing is an opportunity to demonstrate my skills and ability to express my opinion effectively in a text. Through my instructor's feedback, I could understand better what all my writing should have so I can reach my audience very well and be more creative in future deliverables.
Writing was my companion all these weeks.
Therefore, I would like to share some takeaways from all my writings since the beginning of the term.
1. Third person. I was working on news stories, feature stories, and press releases and learned to write in the third person. I needed to talk about a classmate, talk if I were a college department worker, and talk about how my parents lived during COVID-19, so my writing changed to the third person many times, and I learned how to write thinking about others. It’s like thinking about your audience.
2. Blogs should talk about myself. My instructor insisted on the importance of writing about us. We should write to help everyone, but I need to describe how I was able to do something. Also, the importance of telling stories is high. I should tell instead of saying, so I learned to reduce factual information and share stories instead of it.
I can continue applying these takeaways from writing in the future. After all, I am responsible for creating better content each day and connecting with my audience more if I want to improve and achieve better jobs.
