Article of Faith 13 and its relationship with the digital content

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe in the 13 Articles of Faith provided by the prophet Joseph Smith. These articles describe what I think, but most importantly, what I do as a person who strives to follow my Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, I must apply each word of the articles to my life; it doesn’t matter the place or the people I am talking with. So, I want to highlight Article of Faith 13 and how it can help me, as a writer and generally, to act Christlike in the content I create and consume.

Joseph Smith

There are two ways I can use this article of faith to guide our decisions in the content I make and see:

“We believe in being honest.” As people engaged in social media or writers, I should be honest in my content. If I design it, I should tell the readers the truth without the intention to lie or persuade them to do something bad. Also, the article says I should seek to do good to all men. Therefore, I should create content that helps my readers to be better, find solutions to their problems, or inspire them to serve in their community.

“If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.” I should create good and inspiring content and consume appropriate, praiseworthy content. It would be useless if the consumer saw dangerous content on social media and tried to develop honest subjects or themes. The Holy Ghost will not inspire me, and my work won’t make a difference.

For these reasons, I need to follow each word of the Article of Faith 13 and apply it in my life. If I am not doing this, I can repent, try to get help and counsel and improve my content, but I can also change the way I consume misleading or harmful content. After all, everything starts from me. I invite you to have this article more present; you will notice the difference in whatever you do.
